Rachel Bloch House, home to the Kaplan Centre since 1989, will reopen in October 2018 after major renovations that will provide new spaces for study, work, teaching, and exhibitions, as well as an light, airy, and welcoming cafeteria.
The Kaplan Centre and the Johannesburg Holocaust and Genocide Centre will take a second group of UCT student leaders to Poland and Germany in November 2018 to visit a range of Holocaust and other memorial sites with the intention of exploring how both societies have grappled – and continue to grapple – with very difficult pasts. UCT invites applications for a study tour for student leaders to Germany and Poland from 24 November – 4 December 2018 that will visit a range of challenging Holocaust and other memorial sites with the intention of exploring how both societies have grappled – and continue to grapple – with very difficult pasts.
